Bush Creek Stream Restoration
Bush Creek Stream Restoration
Site Engineering contracted with Gwinnett County to repair the Chattahoochee tributary stream Bush Creek in Duluth, Ga. 3,500 linear feet of stream were repaired through a sensitive residential neighborhood. The project included the construction of a swale system, clearing, grubbing excavation, modification of existing steam channels, stone cross vanes, j-hooks, stone cascade structure, riffles, environmental protections, plantings, by-pass, erosion control and final restoration.
Backflow from the Chattahoochee could raise the stream level a dozen feet in a matter of hours during releases from Lake Lanier dam. Extreme caution was paid to the release schedule and working conditions.
