The Publix Sewer Rehabilitation project was generated to alleviate two major issues with the existing Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources trunk line: facility failure and flow capacity.  The sewer gasses generated from the force main discharge of the Bailey Rd and Stanley Rd pump stations along with the additive treatment chemicals coming from the Publix distribution facility were causing rapid corrosion of precast structures along with the ductile iron pipe.  For this reason, the combination of HDPE/PVC and composite/epoxy lined precast were used.  The trunk line was upsized from existing 16” to 30” pipe to accommodate the future development in the area. Services performed included: 36” tunnel liner rehabilitation of 360lf, under GA Hwy 316 installation in existing box culvert, main line sewer up to 30” diameter, Open Cut casing 42”, service connections, curb, gutter, and sidewalk restoration, and rock grinding around existing utilities.

2274 lf 24” PVC
1230 lf 42” Steel Casing
360 lf 36” Tunnel Restoration
Box Culvert Confined Space
