Site Engineering contracted with the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County to replace and upgrade mainline sewer lines near Maxey Boulevard. Nine thousand linear feet of 24” diameter sanitary sewer up to 26 feet deep was installed. Aerial creek crossings and wetland crossings required pier installations and temporary roadway support with swamp mats. The project also presented digging conditions that required rock excavation with mechanical means and explosives below the ground water table. Erosion control was a large part of this project and regular NPDES inspections were required.
